Tragedy Strikes Alabama Community as 16-Year-Old Quarterback Caden Tellier Passes Away Following Game Injury

Selma, Alabama – An Alabama community is grieving the loss of a 16-year-old high school quarterback, Caden Tellier, who passed away after suffering a brain injury during a football game on Friday night. The quarterback was injured in a game where John T. Morgan Academy hosted Southern Academy. Following the injury, Tellier was rushed to a hospital in critical condition, and the devastating news of his passing was confirmed the next day.

In a heartfelt statement, Caden’s parents expressed their sorrow, stating, “Our boy, Caden Tellier has met Jesus face to face. Everyone who knows Caden has known kindness, generosity, and love, and true to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time.” In a touching gesture, the family shared that Caden was an organ donor, and his passing will help save lives, highlighting his spirit of giving.

The headmaster of John T. Morgan Academy, Bryan Oliver, paid tribute to Tellier, describing him as a shining light in their school community. “He was a student, a friend, an athlete, and most important, a Christ follower. There are no words to describe how we feel as a school community and family,” Oliver stated on social media.

In light of this tragedy, Morgan Academy officials announced that all school activities have been suspended for the week. The Tellier family is in the process of planning a service to honor Caden’s memory.

The young quarterback’s passing not only leaves a hole in the hearts of his family and friends but has also impacted the community deeply. As they come together to support one another during this heartbreaking time, Caden’s legacy of kindness and generosity will surely live on.
