High School Sports Update from Johnson City
It’s a thrilling time for high school sports in Johnson City as the fall season rapidly approaches its postseason phase. Just last night, exciting matches were held on both sides of the state line, showcasing the talent and determination of local athletes.
In girls soccer, Science Hill dominated the field, trouncing Dobyns-Bennett with a score of 6-1. This impressive performance led them to be crowned the District 1 AAA champions once again, marking another successful season for the squad.
Meanwhile, in girls volleyball, both Dobyns-Bennett and Daniel Boone are set to advance to the semifinals in next week’s tournament. Daniel Boone secured their spot by defeating West Ridge 3-1, while Dobyns-Bennett followed with a solid win over David Crockett, also with a score of 3-1.
On the Virginia side, the Ridgeview Wolfpack continued their impressive run, remaining unbeaten this season after a strong performance in the Mountain 7 against John Battle. They swept the match 3-0, showcasing their skill and teamwork.
