This weekend marked the final stretch of the high school football regular season in Cincinnati, with numerous thrilling matchups shaping the standings ahead of the playoffs. Key rivalries were in action, including a much-anticipated game between Lakota East and Lakota West, both competing for the top spot in the Greater Miami Conference. The game between Moeller and St. Edward provided plenty of excitement. Moeller’s junior tight end Cooper McCutchan stepped up in a big way, catching three touchdown passes for a total of 84 yards. His performance helped Moeller clinch a 35-30 victory despite being down by 10 points at one point. Quarterback Matt Ponatoski also shone with five touchdown passes, bringing his season total to an impressive 34.
Another interesting matchup featured Kings overcoming Turpin after a tied halftime score. Kings exploded in the second half, putting together a strong offensive display, notably from Carson Lindholm, who scored two touchdowns, leading his team to a 27-7 victory.
