High School Football Roundup: Exciting Matches Across the State

This weekend’s high school football action brought fans a variety of thrilling matches across the state. Teams showcased their skills in a series of competitive encounters.

Wolcott Tech Dominates Wilcox Tech

In an exciting CTC quarterfinal, Wolcott Tech managed to secure a decisive victory against Wilcox Tech with a score of 5-3. Senior striker Kendall Contadini was the star of the match, netting four goals, including one from a penalty kick, and contributing one assist. Freshman midfielder Allisen Pleil also had a notable performance, adding a goal and an assist to the mix. Junior goalie Meghan McKearney made an impressive 13 saves to help seal the win.

New Canaan Triumphs Over Trumbull

In the FCIAC quarterfinals, New Canaan defeated Trumbull with a score of 3-1. New Canaan’s offense was led by Sydney Patten, who scored twice. Despite a late goal from Trumbull’s Peyton Bashar, it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in favor of Trumbull.
