The standout players for Newington included Anthony Napoletano and Bernardo Garcia, who both found the back of the net twice. CJ RosadoEmilio Contreras, registered an impressive 11 saves, but it wasn’t enough to stop Newington’s offensive onslaught.
In another high-stakes match, Stonington edged out Seymour with a close score of 4-3. Salvatore AlessioEthan Cabrera added another goal to secure the win. On the other side, Nate Ferreira performed brilliantly for Seymour, scoring twice from penalty kicks. Despite a solid performance, Seymour fell short, with goalkeeper Alex Porczynski8 saves in the losing effort.
On the field, Coginchaug battled hard against Haddam-Killingworth, managing to pull off a narrow 3-2 victory. Matt YalePhil Merriam and Finn O’Hanlon scored for Haddam-Killingworth, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.
Trumbull showcased their dominance with a convincing 3-0 win over Hamden in volleyball. The highlight of the match came from Paulina Bykowski, who led the Eagles with 9 kills and several other contributions. Bailey Wright21 assists.
