High School Football Playoff Scores from Around Houston
This past Thursday, excitement filled the air as high school football teams from across Houston participated in the statewide playoffs. The scoreboard featured thrilling competitions, with several teams delivering standout performances.
In Region II Area, De Soto proved to be a formidable opponent, outscoring Wylie East with a decisive 51-17 victory. Meanwhile, Port Neches-Groves secured a strong win against Kaufman, finishing with a score of 42-21. The game between Alvarado and Frisco Panther Creek was a nail-biter, going into overtime with Alvarado narrowly winning 44-41.
In contrast, Austin Vandegrift dominated the game against Sotomayor, blanking them completely with a score of 51-0 in Region IV Area. Cibolo Steele also had a commanding win over PSJA, coming away with a score of 63-12.
Narrow contests were also seen in Region III Area, with A&M Consolidated edging out Galveston Ball 10-3. Tyler Chapel Hill secured a solid victory over Worthing, with a final score of 49-24.
In other matchups, San Antonio Alamo Heights delivered an impressive performance against Mercedes, finishing up 75-14, while Boerne claimed a strong 38-3 victory over Edcouch-Elsa. Wimberley dominated Rockport-Fulton with a stunning score of 62-21.
Further east, in Region I Area, Canyon Randall managed to topple Andrews by a score of 42-36, and Stephenville easily defeated Hereford, wrapping up the game at 35-7. In a dramatic game that went into overtime, Post prevailed against Anson by a score of 42-35.
