College Football Recruiting Rankings Highlight SEC and Big Ten Dominance
In an impressive showing on the first day of the early signing period, teams from the SEC and Big Ten are firmly leading the college football recruiting rankings. This year, both conferences have taken the top 11 classes, according to the latest rankings. It appears the trend of strong recruiting from these conferences continues.
The top three schools are Texas, Alabama, and Georgia, all hailing from the SEC. Notably, eight of the top eleven spots in the rankings are occupied by SEC teams, with the addition of three Big Ten schools to round out the group. Oregon and Ohio State are the highest-ranked schools from the Big Ten, following closely behind the Southeastern Conference schools.
Across the top five recruiting classes, a total of 19 five-star players have officially signed to play with these teams. A significant highlight is Georgia, which has secured commitment from two top-ranked players: Elijah Griffin, a defensive lineman from Savannah Christian Prep, who is ranked as the No. 3 overall player, and Isaiah Gibson, listed as No. 9.
Texas leads the way with the top recruiting class, which includes four five-star recruits, the standout being safety Jonah Williams, rated as the No. 8 overall player. A surprising late addition to Texas’ roster was five-star cornerback Kade Phillips, who switched his commitment from LSU.
Alabama is close behind with three five-star recruits, including quarterback Keelon Russell, who is the second overall recruit. Ohio State also boasts two five-star players, while Oregon features four five-star talents. The rankings close with Auburn at sixth, followed by defending national champion Michigan at seventh after signing the top-rated prospect, quarterback Bryce Underwood.
As the recruiting period wraps up, schools such as LSU, Texas A&M, and Tennessee place in the top ten, while Florida stands at the 11th position. Last year’s top-rated classes remained the same, with only a shift in their placement.
