High School Football Roundup: Jackson and Mountlake Terrace Claim Victories

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, the city of Jackson witnessed an exciting high school football matchup that ended with Jackson narrowly defeating Meadowdale with a close score of 59-56. The match was intense, showcasing impressive performances from both teams.

Seamus Williams led the charge for Jackson, scoring 17 points while also contributing seven assists and grabbing five rebounds. Meadowdale’s top scorer, Natnael Ghirmay, kept things competitive by netting 18 points. With both teams now sporting records of 1-1, they both look forward to bouncing back in their next games. Meadowdale is scheduled to face off against Monroe on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:15 p.m. at Meadowdale High School.

In a separate match, Mountlake Terrace made a strong statement by defeating Lynnwood with a final score of 70-33. Mountlake Terrace started strong, winning each quarter with scores of 22, 14, 17, and 17 respectively while Lynnwood struggled to keep pace, scoring 09, 09, 08, and 07. Individual scorers for Mountlake included Svayjeet Singh with 12 points, and Rayshaun Connor and Brody Myers-Little both adding 11 points.

Lynnwood’s best performers were Hosny El-Aarag and Robel Berhanu, who scored 8 points each. With their victory, Mountlake Terrace improved to 2-0 overall, while Lynnwood fell to 0-3. Mountlake Terrace will next play against Arlington on December 10 at 7:15 p.m. at Mountlake Terrace High School, while Lynnwood aims to rebound against Snohomish at the same time and date.

In another match, Edmonds-Woodway took down Bishop Blanchet with a score of 64-39. Cameron Hiatt led Edw with 17 points and was supported by Grant Williams with 11 points. Edmonds-Woodway now stands at 2-0, while Bishop Blanchet’s record adjusts to 3-1. Edmonds-Woodway’s next challenge is against Kamiak on December 10 at 7:15 p.m. at Edmonds-Woodway High School.
