AMOREM’s Dietary Team Shines at Culinary Clinic in South Carolina

In Fort Mill, South Carolina, a distinguished team from AMOREM recently showcased their culinary mastery at the annual culinary immersion clinic organized by Premiere and US Foods. The team, led by Lead Dietary Specialist Tina Avery and Dietary Specialist Tina Bryant, tied for second place in a culinary competition held during the course of the clinic.

Global Congregation for Culinary Education

Each year, Fort Mill becomes a hive of activity as culinary teams from across the country converge to partake in the clinic. The event offers opportunities to gain education, foster collaborations, and flex the competitive spirit in the culinary sphere. The education program features a wide gamut of courses, ranging from a class on knife safety to ones where executive chefs hand down their unique techniques and cooking applications. Capping off the array is a course dedicated to promoting versatility by using single products in multiple ways.

Bringing New Skills for Patient Care

“These learning sessions provide us with a wealth of knowledge to take home,” expressed an elated Avery. The AMOREM team was particularly thrilled about bringing innovative cost-saving ideas, modern cooking methods, fresh procedures, and diverse recipes from various cultural backgrounds into their patient care units.

A Majestic Finale

The grand climax of the culinary immersion clinic is a mock Chopped challenge. Culinary professionals from around the country team up and exert their creative flair to produce an extraordinary dish, all within a given time. This year’s secret ingredient to be incorporated into the dish was a pimento cheese spread. The judging criteria for this competition encompass flavor, plate presentation, recipe execution, timing, and creativity.

Impressive Performance by AMOREM’s Team

The AMOREM team’s culinary prowess shone bright as they clinched the second position during this year’s competition. “We had an excellent time and learned a great deal of new ideas,” Avery shared. She further observed how their now enhanced skills can be directed towards their primary goal – to provide patients and families with comforting and appetizing meals that emulate the warmth of home.

As a leading local, nonprofit, hospice and palliative care provider, AMOREM has always been revered for offering compassionate care right at the patient’s home. With their impressive outing at the culinary clinic, the AMOREM dietary team has added another feather to its cap, reaffirming its commitment to delivering the best for their patients and families.
