Asheville High School Football Games Rescheduled Ahead of Hurricane Francine

Asheville is preparing for some changes in high school football plans this week due to the approaching Hurricane Francine. With the threat of inclement weather on Friday, several schools have decided to move their games up one day to Thursday in a bid to avoid the heaviest rainfall expected on Friday.

The National Weather Service has indicated that the western part of North Carolina will receive most of the significant rain, with Asheville facing a 60% chance of rain on Friday night. Other areas also bracing for rain include Boone and Charlotte, both with a 50% chance of precipitation. However, the chances for rain decrease as you move eastward. For instance, cities like Raleigh, Fayetteville, and Wilmington are reporting a lower risk, with only a 30% chance of rain on Friday night. Meanwhile, the northeast part of the state has even lower expectations for rain.

As these weather changes unfold, HighSchoolOT is keeping track of statewide schedule adjustments for Week 4 of the high school football season. The aim is to ensure that games are played under better conditions, while prioritizing the safety of players and fans alike. If you have information about any game changes, you can communicate those details directly via email.

This proactive approach from teams and schools illustrates the importance they place on both safety and the tradition of high school football in the community. As the situation develops, it’s crucial for players, coaches, and fans to stay updated on potential schedule shifts throughout the week.
