Bills Edge Out Jets in Controversial Monday Night Clash

East Rutherford, New Jersey – The Buffalo Bills secured a vital win against the New York Jets on Monday night, ending the game with a score of 23-20. However, it was the officiating that took center stage, frustrating fans who watched the tightly contested matchup.

Throughout the game, both teams faced multiple penalties. A total of 11 penalties were called against each team, which impacted the flow of the game significantly. The Bills racked up 94 yards in penalties, while the Jets were penalized for 110 yards. On the final drive of the Jets, there were four penalties, including offsetting fouls, which added to the tension. In a critical moment, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw an interception intended for Mike Williams, caught by Bills cornerback Taron Johnson.

Buffalo started strong, leading 20-17 at halftime, but both teams managed only a field goal each in the second half. The Bills relied on quarterback Josh Allen, who completed 19 of 25 passes for 215 yards and threw two touchdown passes — one to Dawson Knox and the other to Mack Hollins. Allen also contributed on the ground with 18 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Ray Davis, the Bills’ running back, was impressive with 97 rushing yards on 20 carries, plus three catches for 55 yards.

On the other side, Rodgers kept the Jets competitive, completing 23 of 35 passes for 294 yards with touchdown passes to Allen Lazard and Garrett Wilson, both of whom surpassed 100 receiving yards in the game. Lazard finished with 114 yards on six catches, while Wilson accumulated 107 yards on eight receptions.

The Jets had a chance to tie or win the game but were hindered by missed field goals from kicker Greg Zuerlein, who missed two attempts, ultimately sealing their defeat. With this win, the Bills now sit at the top of the AFC East with a record of 4-2, while the Jets dropped to 2-4.
