The newly acquired land consists of two properties along Mintwood Lane, situated just south of Sturgis Road and east of Whitehorse Road. Combined, these parcels of land tally approximately 195 acres. This acquisition also enhances the tribe’s existing Green Earth parcel, which encompasses about 296 acres and houses tribal government buildings and homes.

For those wondering about the geographical layout, the Catawba Nation’s reservation is primarily divided into two main sections: one larger 710-acre main reservation situated to the south, and the Green Earth site, located to the north, both of which kiss the shores of the serene Catawba River.

This purchase is part of a greater initiative by the Catawba Nation to bolster their landholdings throughout York County, which now amounts to over 1,500 acres since this recent buy.
