Eighteen cars were reportedly broken into at Atrium Health Main’s parking deck in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police reports. Two unknown suspects were said to be responsible for breaking into several vehicles, with a total of 19 victims listed.
Purses, computer hardware, sunglasses, cash, and tablets were among the items reported stolen from the vehicles. A statement released by Atrium Health expressed disappointment in the actions of the perpetrators, emphasizing the vulnerability of patients, visitors, and healthcare workers. The institution highlighted the importance of remaining vigilant and taking precautions to protect personal property, despite the presence of a dedicated security staff on the premises.
Atrium Health assured the public that they have security measures in place, including an extensive network of cameras across the campus. The organization also collaborates closely with law enforcement to provide information and evidence to aid in identifying and prosecuting individuals involved in criminal activities.
