Basketball tournament matchup intensity
The seedings and pairings for next week’s Hercules Tires Big South Conference Women’s Basketball Championship at the Quebein Center on the campus of High Point University in High Point, N.C., have been determined, the Conference office announced tonight. The Eagles will be the No. 6 seed and will play No. 3 seeded Radford in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 7 at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN+. Winthrop split two meetings with Radford this season, falling 63-55 in Radford on Jan. 13 but winning the re-match 54-51 in overtime on Feb. 14 in Rock Hill.
The upcoming clash between Winthrop and Radford promises to be a nail-biter, with both teams having a win against each other this season. Fans can expect an intense battle on the court as the Eagles look to advance further in the tournament.
All nine Big South men’s and women’s programs will compete in the Hercules Tires Basketball Championships, with seedings based on regular-season finishes. The tournament features 16 games of basketball action spanning five days, culminating in the championship games on Sunday, March 10.
The opening round of the 2024 Hercules Tires Big South Basketball Championships begins on Wednesday, March 6. Quarterfinals will take place on Thursday, March 7, followed by the semifinals on Saturday, March 9. The championship game is set for Sunday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
