The Debut of SWV on NPR’s World-Famous ‘Tiny Desk Concert’ Series

Charlotte are beaming with pride as four of its own, Shago Elizondo on guitar, CJ Mercer on bass, Toussaint Lipton II on drums, and Eric “E Will” Williams on keys, joined the R&B group SWV for their debut performance on NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk Concert.’ The musical spectacle aired on June 28, with SWV members Cheryl “Coko” Gamble, Tamara “Taj” George, and Leanne “Lelee” Lyons bringing along the Charlotte troupe for an electric set.

Their seven-song session had fans grooving to their classic tracks, anticipation growing for their upcoming North Carolina shows.

The Queens of R&B tour will make pit stops in Charlotte on July 17 at the PNC Music Pavilion and in Raleigh on July 20 at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park, promising to bring back the magic of the ’90s R&B scene to the fans.
