Swirl: Charlotte’s Latest Party Pictures Uncover a City In Celebration

From exclusive galas to trendsetting fashion shows, Charlotte’s social scene has been buzzing with a series of fabulous events during the spring. Participants and spectators alike had the chance to experience unique gatherings that were each marked by their distinct flair and atmosphere.

Fire & Ice Bechtler Museum Gala

On April 19 at the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, hosts Liz Hilliard and Lee Kennelly added a touch of Northern charm in salute to Icelandic artist Hildur Ásgeirsdóttir Jónsson. Features of the night included fire jugglers, dancers, and snake charmers — adding a fiery counterpoint to the chilly Nordic theme of the evening. The black-tie event proved to be a striking display of elegance and art.

Levine Children’s Gala benefiting Atrium Health

The city witnessed a surprising performance by Flo Rida at the Levine Children’s Gala held at Bank of America Stadium on April 6. But the most noteworthy highlight was philanthropist Sandra Levine announcing her donation of a whopping $3 million. Crowds thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and festivities, all the while contributing to the record-breaking fundraising effort for children’s health.

Charlotte Hope Gala benefiting JDRF

The annual gala hosted by JDRF North Carolina was held on April 20 at the Revelry at Camp North End, the goal of the event was to raise funds and awareness for type 1 diabetes. With the cause in focus, attendees joined together for an enjoyable evening filled with hope and camaraderie.

Women of Distinction Fashion Show

On April 11, the Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte Women’s Auxiliary presented the Women of Distinction Fashion Show. Five local boutiques presented the best of spring and summer collections on the runway at Quail Hollow Club. As well as showcasing the latest fashion trends, the event also honored the work of Judy Seldin-Cohen, Deronda Metz and Brooke Higgins, who were named “Women of Distinction” for their contributions to the community. The show not only elevated fashion but also recognized the local charities and initiatives, once again intertwining philanthropy with style.

The city of Charlotte, known for its vibrant and exciting social scene, continues to rightfully carry its reputation forward with these events, each one helping bring the community together for a shared cause while ensuring attendees have a memorable time.
