Charlotte, N.C. – Registration is now open for the highly anticipated fourth Annual Pink Cupcake Walk & Breast Cancer Lap. The event, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5th from 7:30-11 a.m. at Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte, promises to be a memorable day filled with love, support, and celebration.
“The Pink Cupcake Walk is a one-of-a-kind event filled with sweetness, smiles, hugs, and special moments. We are honored and delighted to be part of this year’s event and look forward to the community joining us in a celebration of survivorship, helping lift those who fight, and remembering those we have lost,” said Susan Evren, executive director of Go Jen Go. Participants are encouraged to grab their friends, family, and neighbors and come together for a morning of love, support, and fun.
Participants are invited to wear pink attire (along with green and teal signifying metastatic breast cancer), walk one mile (equivalent to four laps) around the baseball field, and receive a mini cupcake from a local bakery after each lap. Additionally, breast cancer survivors, fighters, and thrivers will have the opportunity to take a special lap following the walk. Local bakeries including Kupkake Kouture Charlotte, Dream Cupcakes, Sunshine’s Southern Kitchen, and Dariela’s Sweet Taste will be providing the delicious treats.
Participants who require mobility assistance can use their personal scooters or opt to watch from the stands while a volunteer collects their cupcakes. Immediately after the walk, Truist Field will be transformed into the Mecklenburg Oktoberfest fall festival, complete with live music, kids’ activities, food, and drinks.
For a minimum donation of $50 to the Pink Cupcake Walk, donors will receive coins that can be exchanged for food and beverages at the Mecklenburg Oktoberfest. These coins will also be available for purchase on-site. The registration fee for the Pink Cupcake Walk is $30 per person until August 16th, after which it will increase to $35 per person. Participants must sign up by September 5th to guarantee a 2024 Pink Cupcake Walk T-shirt. A portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting Go Jen Go.
