The high school football landscape has become quite competitive, with Dixon’s team making headlines as they successfully charged to the quarterfinals of the 4A class. This season stood out, especially with a memorable eighth-week showdown against Byron that attracted hundreds of fans to AC Bowers Field.

Additionally, Sterling football made a determined push into the playoffs, with standout players making significant contributions. The Erie-Prophetstown volleyball team also made history by advancing to the sectional championship for the very first time as a co-op, which was an outstanding accomplishment for them.

While both Sterling and Dixon soccer teams faced regional semifinal losses at the hands of Geneseo, the journey brought valuable experiences for the players. The evening matches at Dixon were especially challenging as players and spectators endured a couple of lengthy delays due to lighting issues, underscoring the unpredictability of sports.
