According to the local police, the shocking incident transpired just after 5 p.m. The authorities were alerted to a shooting victim in the 100 block of Herlong Avenue. Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered two victims: a 22-year-old male with a serious gunshot wound to his mouth, and a 20-year-old female with a graze wound.
The suspect, Lamarius Devon Howze, 22, fled the scene on a silver bicycle donning an all-black outfit. A thorough search operation was conducted by the K-9 tracking team, eventually leading to the suspect’s capture on South Cherry Road.
The police have confirmed that the victims were already acquainted with Howze prior to the crime. The investigation revealed that the victims drove into a parking lot in a black Kia, leading to an encounter with the suspect.
Following an argument with the male victim who was armed with a firearm, Howze allegedly seized the gun and began to retreat. However, he abruptly fired multiple shots at the victims’ vehicle, gravely injuring them both.
Upon apprehension, Howze was promptly taken to the Rock Hill Jail. He is facing severe charges including attempted murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
