Jazz Lovers to Gather in Rock Hill for Downtown Jazz Jam on October 6, 2024

Jazz Lovers Unite in Rock Hill for a Groovy Evening

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Are you ready to tap your feet and sway to some fantastic tunes? If so, mark your calendars for an exciting evening of music at the next Downtown Jazz Jam on Sunday, October 6, 2024. This lively event promises to be a delightful experience for both musicians and jazz aficionados in the community.

A Musical Gathering at the Power House Food Hall

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Power House Food Hall will come alive with the unforgettable sounds of jazz. Whether you’re an experienced musician or a complete novice, this event welcomes everyone with open arms. The jam session is set to take place on the lower outdoor patio, weather permitting, so don’t forget to bring your lawn chair! If the skies decide not to cooperate, the jam will move inside to the cozy lounge area of the Food Hall.

The ambiance is warm and vibrant, making it the perfect place to enjoy live music. Plus, the Food Hall will have a variety of tasty food and drink options available for purchase, and if you’re a fan of craft beer, the Middle James Brewing Company will also be open for refreshing brews.

A Call to Musicians of All Ages and Skill Levels

One of the best parts of the Downtown Jazz Jam is its inclusivity. Whether you’re a middle or high school student, a college musician, a teacher, or a local jazz lover, you’re invited to grab your instruments and join in on the fun! Participants can look forward to showcasing popular jazz standards that encompass swing, Latin, blues, and ragtime styles.

Before you head out, make sure to pack your own instrument, a music stand, and a Real Book if you need it. Don’t worry if you play the drums or keyboard because the organizers have got you covered with a drum set, keyboard, amplifiers, and a small PA system provided for your convenience.

A Word from the Organizers

Tim Hartis, one of the event organizers, shared his enthusiasm about the jam sessions: “Each month we have a fun crowd and a great variety of musicians. I hope folks who aren’t familiar with jazz will come out to this free, family-friendly event and give us a listen. Whether we’re indoors or outside, it’s always a happening atmosphere at The Power House!”

The Downtown Jazz Jam isn’t just about playing music; it’s a chance for musicians to gain valuable experience, have a great time, and make connections with others who share their passion for jazz.

Join the Fun!

So, whether you’re a seasoned musician eager to showcase your talent or someone just looking for a lovely evening out, the Downtown Jazz Jam is the place to be. Come enjoy the lively rhythms of great American music while relaxing with your friends and family over dinner or drinks.

Mark your calendars with a big, bright circle and gather your friends for a memorable evening filled with jazz, laughter, and community spirit! If you need any additional information, feel free to reach out to Tim Hartis at 803-230-1967 or contact him via email at timhartis@live.com.
