Edmonds-Woodway Warriors Win a High-Scoring Affair Against Lynnwood Royals

In an exciting matchup on Sunday, December 15, 2024, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors emerged victorious over the Lynnwood Royals with a final score of 45-36. The game showcased an impressive performance from junior Finley Wichers, who led the Warriors with 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Throughout the game, the Warriors demonstrated solid teamwork and skill, scoring in each quarter with totals of 8, 11, 14, and 12 points respectively. Lynnwood kept pace initially with scores of 5, 9, 9, and 13 but couldn’t overcome the Warriors’ consistent offense.

Alongside Wichers, senior Abi Porter contributed eight points, nine rebounds, and made a notable impact with four assists and four steals. Sophomore Jasmine Gill also had a solid outing, adding 11 points to the scoreboard. Overall, the Warriors improved their record to 4-0 this season.

Lynnwood’s standout player was freshman Nina Wilson, leading her team with 14 points. Other key contributions came from Shifa Hanchinamani with eight points and both Ena Dodik and Lexi Tamayo contributing seven points each. Lynnwood’s record now stands at 1-3.

The Warriors will look to continue their winning streak in their next game against Archbishop Murphy on Wednesday, December 18, at 7:15 p.m. while the Royals will face Kings on Saturday, December 14, at noon.

In another matchup, the Shorecrest Scots secured a convincing 78-39 victory over the Mountlake Terrace Hawks. The Scots jumped to a commanding lead with a score of 34-7 by halftime, marking a strong performance that showcased their strengths.

Both Shorecrest and Mountlake Terrace had entered the game undefeated, adding extra intensity to the matchup. With this win, Shorecrest now holds a record of 6-0 overall, while Mountlake Terrace’s record is at 3-1.

Next up for Mountlake Terrace is a game against Marysville Getchell on Monday, December 16, while Shorecrest is set to play again on Tuesday, December 17.
