EDMONDS – The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors wrapped up their regular season with a solid 2-0 victory over the Meadowdale Mavericks on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. This win not only boosts the Warriors’ confidence but also sets the stage for their postseason play.

The Warriors secured the seventh seed and will host the tenth-seeded Everett Seagulls at Edmonds-Woodway High School at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, Meadowdale will head out as the twelfth seed to face the fifth-seeded Shorecrest Scots at Shoreline Stadium at 6 p.m.

The winning teams from these matchups will advance to the double elimination eight-team District tournament. In their game, Edmonds-Woodway scored two goals, with Ava Huse netting one and Janie Hanson finding the back of the net with an assist from Bella Dreitzler. The Warriors’ goalkeeper, Alice Everett, earned a shutout, demonstrating excellent defensive play.

For Meadowdale, the season shapes up as a disappointment with a record of 4-8 in the league and 7-9 overall. In contrast, Edmonds-Woodway finishes with a record of 7-5 in the league and 11-5 overall.

In other action, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks triumphed over the Arlington Eagles with a close 1-0 finish.
