Excitement Builds in Iowa High School Football Quarterfinals

The Iowa high school football quarterfinals lit up the evening on Friday night as teams battled hard for a chance to advance to the state semifinals at the UNI-Dome. Enthusiastic fans filled the stands, and the atmosphere was electric with drama and suspense.

In the Class 5A matchups, the Valley Tigers pulled off a nail-biting 38-35 victory over Johnston to secure their spot. In a thrilling finish, Lewis Central managed to defeat ADM, 30-25, with a last-minute touchdown pass from Brady Hetzel to Peyton Phippen.

Also making headlines was Wilton, who overcame Regina 21-14. They scored an onside kick touchdown, sealing their chance to head to the UNI-Dome. This will be their first-ever trip to the state semifinals, marking a significant achievement for the program.

The Southeast Polk Rams continue their strong season, rolling past Iowa City West with a clear 42-15 win. Their performance has fans talking as they aim for a potential four-peat in Class 5A. Dowling Catholic also secured a semifinal spot after narrowly beating Ankeny Centennial, 14-10.
