Exciting Showdowns Ahead as High School Football Season Nears Conclusion in Montana

As the high school football season heats up across the state, teams are preparing for a thrilling final week of regular play. In Bozeman, the top-ranked Bozeman Gallatin Golden Bears (8-0) solidified their spot as the team to beat after defeating No. 3 Billings West 39-21 last Friday. This week, they will face Billings Skyview (1-7), who are looking to improve their struggling season.

In second place, Helena Capital (7-1) is on a roll after a dominant 57-17 victory over Kalispell Flathead. They will meet Butte (3-5) this week, hoping to keep their momentum going. Kalispell Glacier (7-1) climbed to No. 3 after overpowering No. 5 Missoula Big Sky with a score of 35-7 and will look to carry that energy into their game against Missoula Sentinel (4-4).

Meanwhile, Billings West (7-1), after their loss to Bozeman Gallatin, will attempt to bounce back in their matchup against Belgrade (1-7). Helena (4-4) also finds itself in prime position after securing a close win against Butte, defeating them 13-10, and they will be playing at Missoula Big Sky (5-3) this week.

In Class A action, Frenchtown (8-0) remains unbeaten with a crushing win against Stevensville (56-0) and heads to Butte Central (3-4) next. Billings Central is right alongside them, also at 8-0, after an impressive 63-7 victory over Lockwood and will take on Miles City (5-3) this week.

In Class B, the top two teams, Malta (8-0) and Manhattan (8-0), both secured convincing victories last week, showcasing their dominance in their respective matchups. Malta will face Fairfield (4-3), while Manhattan goes on the road to challenge a solid Columbus (4-3) team.

Turning to the 8-Man rankings, the top three teams – Fairview, Belt, and Valley Christian – all sit at 8-0 after comfortable wins last week. This week, Fairview takes on Wibaux (2-6), while Belt faces Rocky Boy (0-7).

Finally, in 6-Man football, Centerville (7-1) jumped to the top spot after defeating the previous leader, D-G-S-G (7-1), convincingly with a score of 68-38. Centerville will now take on Grass Range-Winnett (4-4) this week. These exciting matchups mark the thrilling conclusion of the regular season, and teams are looking to end on a high note as they vie for playoff positioning.
