Rock Hill, SC, November 19, 2024 – The United Way of York County (UWYC) is taking a significant step towards enhancing the financial stability of local families by opening its grant process. This initiative aims to support organizations that share UWYC’s vision of a financially secure community by the year 2030.
Beginning today, UWYC is inviting proposals for funding from organizations that are actively working on initiatives related to financial stability. This grant cycle is part of UWYC’s Bold Goal to ensure that families in York County can thrive financially.
Prospective applicants are required to submit a Letter of Interest by December 19, 2024, indicating their intent to apply for funding, which will commence on July 1, 2025. Agencies already funded in the 2024-2025 cycle can simply complete an Intent to Recertify form instead of submitting a full proposal. Both submissions are crucial as UWYC aims to maintain a focused effort on program evaluation and shared performance measures.
The importance of this initiative stems from UWYC’s commitment to build a community where families can attain lasting financial success. The organization recognizes that achieving such stability necessitates collaboration and investment in relationships with various strategic partners.
Funding will primarily target projects that focus on Financial Literacy, Workforce Development, and Economic and Family Support. All proposals must demonstrate how they align with UWYC’s objectives and cater to the financial stability of working families.
Organizations interested in applying must meet specific criteria laid out in UWYC’s guidelines. The target population must include at least one defined group to help ensure that the support is directed effectively to those who need it most.
After the initial submission of Letters of Intent by December 19, 2024, successful applicants will receive invitations to submit a full application by January 21, 2025. The online application process will open on February 3, 2025, providing a clear timeline for progression.
Funding for subsequent years will depend on the performance of grantees and their ongoing alignment with UWYC’s investment priorities. This ensures that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to achieve the desired outcomes.
The grant opportunities presented by the United Way of York County not only open doors for financial assistance but also promote a unified approach among local organizations aimed at achieving a common goal. By fostering partnerships and investing in community resources, they are paving the way for a more financially stable future for York County families.
