Littleton High School Football Coach Fired Amid Hazing Investigation

Littleton, Colorado – In a significant turn of events for the local high school football scene, Lance Vieira has been dismissed from his position as head coach of the Littleton High School football team. This decision comes as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of hazing within the football program.

The investigation began following a tip received by school officials, which raised concerns about potential assault among team members. As a result, the Littleton Police Department is currently looking into these serious allegations of hazing, which have yet to be fully detailed.

In connection to the investigation, Vieira was issued a ticket for reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor charge, on Tuesday. Littleton Public Schools (LPS) confirmed this information in a letter sent to the community, explaining that the citation was a direct result of the ongoing investigation but is not linked to the original assault allegations. The announcement was made by LHS Principal Thomas Velazquez and later reiterated by LPS Superintendent Todd Lambert.

Even though Vieira has not been formally arrested, he is expected to appear in Littleton Municipal Court on a date that has not yet been established. As events unfolded, the team faced significant disruptions, with practices, a team dinner, and scrimmages being canceled as the investigation progressed.

At this point, there is no clear information regarding whether the Littleton High School football team will participate later in the season. The silence surrounding the specifics of the alleged hazing and assault has left players, parents, and the community concerned.

As the situation develops, many are left wondering about the future of the football program and the safety protocols that will be put in place to protect players in the upcoming season.
