Fort Mill has its hands full with construction activity these days! As you drive through one of the town’s busiest routes, particularly during rush hour, you’ll likely see some significant changes taking shape. J.M. Cope Construction has moved in at the intersection of Fort Mill Parkway, Banks Road, and Wolfpack Trail, where they’re working on a project that locals are buzzing about.
What’s going up? It’s an almost 4-acre triangular lot that will soon house a childcare center called The Learning Experience. Elias Garcia, the property owner with GSG Holdings out of Cornelius, North Carolina, shared that this center will initially be the sole building on the site. He’s keeping things open for the future, though, stating that there’s another part of the parcel earmarked for additional development, though the specifics of that are still in the air.
The Learning Experience will be located on the back portion of the property, away from the busy Fort Mill Parkway, right where Banks and Wolfpack meet. But Garcia isn’t stopping there. He mentioned that the land along Fort Mill Parkway is slated for clearing and future construction opportunities. It’s clear that more is on the way to this already thriving corridor!
With traffic flowing steadily and more homes popping up around Fort Mill, it’s no surprise that demand for childcare services is increasing. This is especially true given that more than half of the 20 Fort Mill School District schools are located right around the town’s bypass. The parkway is particularly congested when school lets in or out, making it critical for families to have convenient options for their little ones during the day.
Garcia pointed out the urgency of addressing childcare capacity in Fort Mill. “Reliable, available childcare is something we’re very interested in helping with,” he explained. It’s a sentiment that seems to resonate strongly with Fort Mill residents, who are eager for quality options for their kids.
As for when we can expect to see The Learning Experience opening its doors? Garcia mentioned that the facility should be ready by the start of the next school year, which is sure to delight local families. He also noted that any further development on the parkway site is still a bit up in the air with no definite timeline set just yet.
Besides the childcare center, Fort Mill has even more planned growth to look forward to, including a Harris Teeter shopping center not far from the childcare property. It’s this kind of development that will likely keep making Fort Mill even more attractive to new families and businesses alike.
For now, the noise of construction and fallen trees is a testament to Fort Mill’s vibrant growth. As we watch the busy town evolve, it’s refreshing to know that facilities like The Learning Experience are on their way to help meet the community’s needs. With further developments on the horizon, it appears this small town is on its way to becoming an even more bustling hub for families.
So keep your eyes peeled as you drive along Fort Mill Parkway, knowing that exciting changes are just around the corner!
