Wales was buzzing this past week as local high school basketball teams took to the courts for some thrilling matchups. In a standout performance, the Notre Dame Tritons managed to pull away from the Hartford Hawks, scoring an impressive 55 points in the second half to secure an 87-65 victory.
Leading the charge for Notre Dame was Kaia Waldrop, who scored an incredible 31 points. Peyton Musial chipped in with 19 points, while Aspen Abel and Destiny Webster contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively. The Tritons displayed excellent teamwork and shooting, particularly from beyond the arc, as Abel and Webster both netted two three-pointers.
Hartford was not without its stars in this match. Christian led the team with 23 points, while Voss managed to score 13 points. Even with some strong performances, Hartford couldn’t keep up with Notre Dame’s high tempo and accurate shooting.
In another matchup, the Prairie School took down Appleton East with a score of 63-43. JJ Barnes25 points. Ella Sweeney was the star for Appleton East with 14 points, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap as the Prairie School pulled away in the second half.
Also in action, the Freedom Eagles celebrated a solid victory against Slinger with a final score of 70-55. Donovan Davis36 points and 17 rebounds.
