High School Football Roundup: Abbott Tech Prevails

In Bridgeport, the high school soccer scene was buzzing this past Friday as several teams took to the field. Abbott Tech put on an impressive performance, defeating Bullard Havens with a score of 5-0. Leading the charge for Abbott Tech was Danny Granizo, who netted two goals, while Henrique Candido, John Jaigua, and Dennis Palacios each contributed with a goal apiece. The assists came from Derek Norton and Mateo Diaz, with Diaz providing two assists. Abbott Tech’s goalkeeper, Arnold Urvina, made four saves, helping the team improve their record to 9-2. Bullard Havens, on the other hand, now sits at 5-3-2

In another matchup, Canton faced off against Windsor Locks and emerged victorious with a score of 4-2. Brad Balgach was the star for Canton, scoring three goals, supported by Brayden Zoni. For Windsor Locks, Gavin Souza and Vincent Latorra found the back of the net.

Meanwhile, EO Smith dominated East Catholic, winning 4-0. Yeshua LaBoy was instrumental in the victory, scoring and assisting on two goals, contributing significantly to his team’s success, while their goalie, Cam Mazarolle, made four saves.

In the Norwalk area, Hopkins defeated King with a score of 3-1. Wyatt Sloan and Tommy Pont Strong were key players for Hopkins, with Pont Strong scoring twice.

The games continue to be thrilling, with teams competing fiercely as the postseason approaches. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how the standings will shape up in the coming weeks as these teams push for the playoffs.
