High School Football Dominance on Display in the North Coast Section
In a thrilling week for high school football in the North Coast Section (NCS), standout teams took on challenging out-of-section opponents, showcasing their skills and determination. The week saw top-ranked teams delivering impressive performances, reiterating their dominance on the field.
Leading the charge, De La Salle, ranked No. 1, faced off against Grant Union from Sacramento and secured a convincing 42-14 victory. Following closely, No. 2 Pittsburg also triumphed over Monterey Trail with a similar impressive score of 42-13. Both teams now look forward to their upcoming challenges, with De La Salle set to play Serra from San Mateo and Pittsburg gearing up for Bishop Manogue.
Meanwhile, the third-ranked San Ramon Valley took on a tough match against St. Ignatius from the Central Coast Section, winning 28-10. They are scheduled to take on Soquel this Friday, keen to maintain their form. The performances by these top teams underline the strength of the NCS in this year’s football season.
Several other teams also made headlines, with Las Lomas making a notable jump into the Top 15 after an impressive victory over Vintage. In contrast, Amador Valley was the only team to drop out of the rankings this week.
