This week’s high school football action in the Kansas City metro area was packed with excitement, especially with the playoffs heating up on both sides of the Kansas-Missouri state line. Here are the latest scores from Friday night’s games.
In a thrilling Class 6A matchup, Gardner Edgerton outplayed Blue Valley Northwest with a final score of 44-29. Meanwhile, Blue Valley West achieved a solid win over Shawnee Mission Northwest with a score of 35-20. Derby showcased their strength, defeating Wichita East 63-28. Additionally, Manhattan dominated Wichita Northwest with a score of 49-28.
Friday’s action in Class 5A saw St. Thomas Aquinas narrowly defeat Mill Valley 23-22. St. James Academy had a commanding victory against Blue Valley North, shutting them out 45-0. Hays and Eisenhower both earned convincing wins, defeating their opponents 28-0 and 44-14 respectively.
In Class 4A, Tonganoxie tackled Lansing with a score of 21-7. Bishop Miege dominated against Chanute 37-14. Buhler also secured a win versus Wamego 28-14, while Andover Central made a statement by beating Wellington 58-13.
The Class 3A matches were equally exciting, with Wellsville overcoming Prairie View 35-14. Topeka Hayden crushed Perry-Lecompton 56-6 while Andale also found success against Cheney 52-12.
In other divisions, Council Grove defeated Humboldt 31-8 in Class 2A, and Rossville triumphed over Jackson Heights 38-34 in Class 1A. In 8-man Division I, Central Plains edged past Little River 38-32.
