High School Football Roundup: Kansas City Metro Playoff Action

This week brought an exciting round of high school football action across the Kansas City metro area, highlighted by playoff games and some impressive performances.

On Thursday, Blue Valley Northwest powered through Shawnee Mission North with a final score of 31-12. Olathe Northwest also had a strong showing, defeating Olathe South 44-21. In another thrilling game, Shawnee Mission Northwest triumphed over Shawnee Mission South with a score of 57-27. In a non-playoff game, Riley County dominated Oskaloosa, finishing 64 to zero.

Friday’s matches continued the trend of high scores. Atchison cruised past Bonner Springs 62-16, while Basehor-Linwood edged out Blue Valley Southwest 21-18. Bishop Miege narrowly defeated Louisburg 21-14 in a close contest.

Several teams put on remarkable performances, including Mill Valley, which blanked Harmon 77-0, and Leavenworth, who rolled past Washington 47-7. The game between Lawrence Free State and Olathe West ended with Free State winning 49-26.

The scoreboard kept lighting up with Tonganoxie dominating Schlagle 63-6 and Wellsville shutting down Baldwin 49-7. On Thursday, Mid-Buchanan had an impressive showing against Lathrop, ending the match 58-0.

The high-scoring theme continued into Friday, with Blue Springs shutting out Truman 55-0. Various other teams rounded out the scores with notable wins, including Smithville who defeated Center 65-0 and Wellington-Napoleon demolishing Southwest 82-6.

This week’s football action showcased some incredible talent and competitiveness as teams battle it out in the playoffs. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next round of games!
