High School Football Highlights: Last Week’s Star Performers
It was another exciting week of high school football, with several players putting on impressive performances across various games. The standout team was Christian Brothers Academy (CBA), which crushed Guilderland with a final score of 49-6. Junior quarterback Archie Jones threw 11-of-14 passes for 214 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his improved skills. His teammate, wide receiver Lucius Anderson, had a stellar game as well, catching six passes for 142 yards and three touchdowns.
Not to be outdone, running back Tommy Toher also made a significant impact with 181 rushing yards and a touchdown. The entire team came together to dominate Guilderland, marking a strong season for the Brothers.
Over at Shenendehowa, senior running back Ihsann Alozie displayed his talent by rushing for 240 yards and scoring two touchdowns in a 28-0 win against Saratoga Springs. Alozie’s performance continued to draw attention as he is an oral commit to Navy.
In a closely contested match, Brady Wyland from Colonie pulled off a fantastic eight receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Wolf Pack past La Salle with a score of 21-15.
Meanwhile, the Queensbury Spartans showed resilience in an overtime victory against Columbia, finishing 28-21. Quarterback Zavry Ward threw 313 yards and four touchdowns in a game to remember, while Jason Chant added 141 yards and a touchdown to the mix.
As the season continues, high school football fans are looking forward to more thrilling matchups, including this week’s key games featuring teams like Shenendehowa facing off against Shaker at 7 p.m. on Friday.
