This past Friday, high school football fans in Minnesota were treated to some thrilling semifinals at U.S. Bank Stadium. In the Class 6A semifinals, the Maple Grove Crimson faced off against the Shakopee Sabers. The Crimson, led by Chuck Langama, showcased an impressive performance, scoring a touchdown in every quarter and ultimately securing a 26-14 victory. With this win, Maple Grove moves on to the much-anticipated Prep Bowl final against Minnetonka.
The action wasn’t limited to just Class 6A. In the Class 5A semifinals, the Elk River Elks managed to edge out Chanhassen, winning 21-19 in a closely contested match. Meanwhile, in Class 4A, the Totino-Grace Eagles fought hard to defeat Orono with a score of 30-21, earning their spot in the final.
In Class 2A, two exciting games took place. Jackson County Central triumphed over Kimball with a score of 34-26, while Staples-Motley also continued their successful run by beating Chatfield 36-24. Both teams will be looking forward to their respective championship matchups.
