Omaha High School Football Season Kicks Off with Intense Competition and Surprising Rankings in Week 1

Omaha kicked off its high school football season with an exciting start, showcasing both fierce competition and standout performances during Week 1. The latest rankings by high school football analysts reveal some intriguing results from the games played across the state.

Leading the pack is Millard South, currently sitting at the top of the first week of rankings despite suffering a tough loss, standing with a record of 0-1 after losing 25-39 against their opponents. Meanwhile, Omaha Westside comes in strong with a record of 1-0 after defeating their opponents 22-7 and holding onto the second spot.

Maintaining their rankings from the previous week are Elkhorn South at third, Millard North in fourth, and Omaha North in fifth with a record of 0-1 after their defeat by 7-22. The first week also saw exciting plays from Bellevue West, who narrowly triumphed with a score of 28-27, placing them sixth.

Other notable performances came from Kearney and Bennington, both starting strong with victories at 1-0. Kearney, in particular, displayed a dominant defense, winning their game 20-0. On the other hand, Lincoln Southeast showcased their offensive prowess by defeating their opponents 35-20 to also reach 1-0.

In a different ranking tier, teams like Wahoo and Ashland-Greenwood demonstrated memorable starts with Wahoo showcasing a stunning 62-0 victory, keeping their number one rank intact. Similarly, teams like Norfolk Catholic and Battle Creek started off strong with decisive wins.

As the season progresses, anticipation builds for upcoming games as teams aim to climb the rankings and showcase their talents on the field. Expect more thrilling matchups and exciting plays as the high school football scene heats up across Nebraska!
