Houston’s high school football playoff scene was buzzing this weekend with several teams showcasing their talent in the regional rounds. With many matches going down to the last minute, fans were treated to an impressive display of athleticism and teamwork.
In a thrilling Region I Regional matchup, North Crowley secured a victory against Coppell with a score of 35-24. In another exciting game, Denton Guyer dominated Crowley with a convincing 44-7 win. Over in Region II Regional, Cypress Bridgeland managed to edge out Waxahachie with a close score of 24-19, while Duncanville triumphed over The Woodlands, finishing 42-20.
Meanwhile, De Soto put on a thrilling performance against Willis, winning 55-35. Longview also had a strong showing, beating Klein Collins with a score of 42-34. Denton Ryan continued its successful run in the playoffs by defeating North Richland Hills Richland 48-35.
In Region IV Regional action, CC Flour Bluff narrowly defeated SA Southwest, finishing at 35-28, and Randle took home a solid win against Brenham with a score of 28-14.
Looking at the Championship games, Bulverde Gloria Deo powered through Brazos Valley with a score of 51-36, and Harvest Christian Academy from Lantana put on a show, defeating Lubbock Home School 70-49. Granbury Grace Classical also had a nail-biter, edging out Stinnett West Texas 54-52.
Several semifinals were equally impressive, with Argyle Liberty Christian shutting out Houston St. Thomas 63-0, and Dallas Parish Episcopal defeating Frisco Legacy Christian 42-7. FW All Saints handled Austin Regents with a score of 42-26, and Houston Second Baptist secured a win against Fort Bend Christian 35-16.
