Leading the way is Edina, who secured their spot at the top of the Class 6A rankings after a commanding victory against Eden Prairie last Friday. Edina’s wide receiver Meyer Swinney had an incredible performance, catching eight passes for 197 yards and finding the end zone four times.
In Class 5A, Elk River claims the top position with a 2-0 record, demonstrating their strong start to the season. Following closely behind them is Alexandria, crying out for attention as they aim to overtake Elk River in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Hutchinson holds the number one slot in Class 4A, showcasing a solid performance that now has them ranked as favorites to continue their winning streak.
The Class 3A rankings see Stewartville, another undefeated team, taking the lead. Their performance has been impressive, as shown by their 110 points in the rankings. Staying competitive in Class 2A is Caledonia, currently leading the pack with a strong showing, while Minneota stands at the top of Class 1A with a still-perfect record.
For the Nine-Person division, Nevis and Mountain Iron-Buhl are tied for first place, both boasting 2-0 records. This division promises to be exciting as the competition heats up.
These rankings are compiled by a panel of media members who vote to determine which teams stand out the most, taking into account their performance during the season.
