California High School Football Rankings Shakeup: De La Salle Climbs into Top 10 as Season Heats Up

San Mateo, CA – Week three of the California high school football season has brought about some exciting changes in the rankings as teams continue to battle it out on the field. Notably, De La Salle has made a significant leap into the top 10 following their second victory of the season. This week, the rankings saw movement for ten different programs, showcasing the competitive nature of high school football in the Golden State.

Sitting at the top remains Mater Dei, who has reaffirmed their position as the nation’s number one team. They had an impressive win against Bishop Gorman from Nevada, defeating them 31-15, thanks to stellar performances from Washington QB commit Dash Beierly and Oregon RB commit Jordon Davison. The Monarchs will be traveling to Hawaii this weekend to face Kahuku, currently ranked the number two team in the state.

Following closely is St. John Bosco, also undefeated at 3-0. They managed to grind out a tough 38-28 win against Sierra Canyon, led by junior athlete Madden Williams, who caught three touchdowns and accumulated over 250 yards. The Braves are set to play Junipero Serra, ranked 11th, this weekend.

Mission Viejo is quietly making a name for itself, now ranked third, with a strong defensive showing and no more than 14 points allowed this season, including a dominant 46-0 win last week. They are favored in their upcoming match against Palmdale Highland.

Other teams in the mix include J Serra Catholic, who is steadily moving up the ranks with a current record of 3-0 after their convincing win last week, and Servite, whose defense has impressed with two shutouts this season and a solid 3-0 record.

De La Salle made headlines with a significant 29-point victory against Serra San Mateo, highlighting their resurgence in the ranks. They will host St. Francis this weekend as they look to continue their winning streak.

As we head towards the second weekend of September, teams across California will be looking to solidify their standings as contenders in this thrilling high school football season.
