PIAA Playoffs Set to Ignite with Thrilling High School Football Semifatchups This Weekend

Coatesville, PA – The excitement is building as high school football teams prepare for the PIAA playoffs, with the Class 6A semifinals kicking off this Friday and Saturday. Four matchups are set to determine who will advance to the championship game.

On Friday night, Downingtown West (13-1) will face off against St. Joseph’s Prep (9-2) at 7 p.m. in Coatesville. This matchup promises to be a thrilling contest, as both teams have showcased their abilities throughout the season.

Meanwhile, Central Catholic (11-2) will take on Harrisburg (11-2) in Altoona on Saturday at 1 p.m. The stakes are high, and the teams are eager to prove themselves worthy of a spot in the finals.

In the Class 5A semifinals, West Chester Rustin (13-1) will battle Roman Catholic (10-4) at West Chester Henderson, also at 7 p.m. on Friday. After a strong season, both teams are looking to make a mark in this crucial round.

Another key clash features Bishop McDevitt (12-2) squaring off against Pine-Richland (11-1) at Mansion Park in Altoona, also on Friday at 7 p.m. Fans are anticipating some top-tier football.

In Class 4A, Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast (10-2) will be up against Southern Lehigh (12-2) at Central Bucks West on Friday at 7 p.m. Lampeter-Strasburg (13-0) takes on Thomas Jefferson (13-0) in another exciting matchup at Mansion Park, also at 1 p.m.

The Class 3A semifinals are equally exciting, with Northwestern Lehigh (13-0) going head-to-head with Danville (13-0) at Berwick at 7 p.m. Penn Cambria (14-0) will challenge Avonworth (10-3) at Norwin, also at 7 p.m.

In Class 2A, the game between Taylor Riverside (13-1) and Troy (14-0) will take place in Towanda at 7 p.m., while South Park (12-1) faces Central Clarion (12-0) at Farrell, also at 7 p.m.

The Class A semifinals will feature Muncy (12-2) against Bishop Guilfoyle (13-1) at a location to be determined, with Port Allegany (13-0) and Fort Cherry (14-0) battling at Penn West-Clarion at 7 p.m.
