Ventura – The high school football season has rolled into Week 3, and it featured plenty of excitement across various matchups on Friday night. As fans filled the stands, several teams battled it out, showcasing talent and determination on the field.
The game between Grace and Ridgeview was a nail-biter, ending with a final score of 22-21 in favor of Grace, bringing their record to 3-1. Meanwhile, Nordhoff continued their winning streak, dominating Vasquez 35-0 to improve to 3-0.
In another close contest, Paraclete managed to overcome Westlake with a score of 21-14. Westlake is still searching for their first win of the season, falling to 0-4 despite being only outscored by a total of 18 points across their four games.
Over at Buena, the Bulldogs held on to a 21-20 edge over San Marcos. San Marcos attempted a two-point conversion to tie in the closing moments but was thwarted. Buena’s victory improved their record to 2-2.
Agoura claimed the Las Virgenes Cup, edging out Calabasas 20-17. This victory marks consecutive titles for Agoura, the first time they’ve achieved this since 2012-13. Calabasas now stands at 3-1.
Ventura made an impressive comeback against Camarillo, winning 35-34. Quarterback Gage Kushner led the team, scoring a critical touchdown with 10.7 seconds left on the clock. This brings the Cougars their first win of the season, improving to 1-2.
Lastly, Santa Margarita showed strength against Oaks Christian, securing a 37-17 victory. The Lions will now host Serra of Gardena next Thursday.
