High School Football Roundup: Week Wrap-Up

KIMBERLY – The Kimberly Papermakers secured their spot at the top of the Fox Valley Association by holding off their rivals in a key matchup against Appleton North. The final score was 10-9, with Kimberly now boasting a record of 7-1, 6-1 in the FVA. They tied for first place with Kaukauna and Neenah. The game was close, with Kimberly leading 10-3 late into the fourth quarter, but a late-game touchdown from Charlie Olson to Grant Hardy, covering 47 yards, brought Appleton North back into contention. A last-ditch two-point conversion attempt failed, securing the win for Kimberly. Standout player Marcus Doucette, who was sidelined for most of the season due to a broken collarbone, made his return and rushed for 91 yards on 15 carries, including an 8-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

LUXEMBURG – In another exciting clash, Drew Kortz led Freedom High School to a 34-21 victory over Luxemburg-Casco. Kortz was on fire, completing 19 of 26 passes for a total of 321 yards and four touchdowns while also adding 70 rushing yards and a touchdown. Freedom’s Quinn Brennenstuhl and Parker Jochimsen both shined with 100 and 88 receiving yards, respectively. For Luxemburg-Casco, Brayden Loritz made his mark too, rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

SHEBOYGAN – The Menasha Bluejays cruised to victory with an impressive performance by Logal Liegl, who contributed significantly to the team with two touchdown runs, a touchdown pass, and a safety. The team is now looking strong as they gear up for the playoffs.

APPLETON – Waupaca secured a notable win over Xavier, defeating them 34-15. Xzaver Pittman was a star, scoring both through the air and on the ground, while Austin Adamczak contributed two rushing touchdowns. Waupaca has now earned a playoff berth with a record of 4-3 in the Bay Conference.

WINNECONNE – The Wolves secured the Bay Conference championship with a dominating 57-0 victory over Clintonville, highlighted by Brody Schaffer’s four rushing touchdowns. Winneconne capped off the regular season with an undefeated record of 9-0.

CRANDON – The Cardinals shocked the Truckers with an overwhelming score of 57-0, overpowering Clintonville with a strong rushing attack, led by Brexden Kane and Cruz Palubicki, each scoring three touchdowns.

FOX CROSSING – New Holstein ran past St. Mary Catholic with a score of 44-14. Erick Burns was a standout performer with four touchdowns, showcasing a solid rushing performance.

WEYAUWEGA – A thrilling finish saw Weyauwega-Fremont edge out Colby 35-34. Kameron Zielke threw for 238 yards and led the Warhawks to victory with a late-game touchdown pass.

As the high school football season continues, these teams are making a push for the playoffs, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next round of exciting matchups.
