In football, several players stood out in their respective games. Leading the charge was Jacob Phelps from Averill Park, who had a sensational night against La Salle. He rushed for 166 yards off 16 carries and not only scored one touchdown on the ground but also caught two passes for another 104 yards and two additional touchdowns, helping his team win decisively with a score of 47-12.

Another impressive performance came from Zavry Ward of Queensbury, who threw for 364 yards and fired six touchdown passes in a commanding 41-12 victory over South Glens Falls. His long throws certainly kept the opposing defense on their toes.

Meanwhile, Dominic DiBacco of Shaker also made waves, scoring three touchdowns on rushes during a tough 27-19 loss to Christian Brothers Academy. His runs included an impressive 35-yard sprint, a short 2-yard push, and a flashy 50-yard touchdown.

On the golf scene, senior Sienna Wheeler from Colonie showcased her skills at the Section II girls’ golf championships at Hiland Park. She shot an impressive 78 and is currently tied for third place heading into the final round. This marks a tremendous performance as the competition heats up.

This week promises to be action-packed as teams gear up for key matchups. Players will be looking to build on their successes and deliver more standout performances on the field and the golf course.

Stay tuned as these student-athletes continue to strive for greatness as they represent their schools and communities!
