Seismic Shifts in Idaho High School Football Rankings

BOISE, Idaho — A thrilling weekend filled with impressive victories and unexpected defeats has shaken up the latest rankings in Idaho’s 6A classification, according to the most recent state media poll released this past Tuesday. Leading the charge is Rocky Mountain, which decisively claimed the top position following a dominant 42-8 win over Chiawana from Washington during the Northwest Showdown.

The former No. 1 team, Coeur d’Alene, has slipped several spots down the leaderboard after suffering a loss to Lewiston. Meanwhile, Highland has climbed the ranks following their impressive victory over Summit from Oregon.

In the 3A rankings, Aberdeen and Declo switched places after the Tigers achieved a shutout win at home against the Hornets. West Side earned all first-place votes as they head into Week 3, showcasing their strong start to the season.

Two new entries captured the attention in the latest rankings, including Madison, who is still undefeated after a recent win against Middleton. The Kamiah team also made their debut after securing their second win in a row against Council.
