As the end of October approaches, the spirit of homecoming fills the air in Key West, and the fall sports seasons at Key West High School are wrapping up. For many seniors, this signifies a bittersweet moment as it’s often their last chance to play their beloved sports.
This year, the fall sports include football, swimming, cross country, golf, and volleyball. The student-athletes have put in significant effort, practicing not just on the field but also hitting the weights in the KWHS Back Yard and the weight room. Their hard work is paying off, as they strive to perform at their best in both sports and academics.
Especially noteworthy is the class of 2025, who has shown remarkable dedication throughout their four years at KWHS. The seniors have not only excelled in their competitive fields but have also maintained good grades, demonstrating that they can balance athletics and education.
The efforts of these student-athletes are commendable. Each practice, each game played, brings them closer to their goals and solidifies their legacies at their high school. As the fall season draws to a close, it’s a time for reflection, celebration, and looking ahead to the opportunities that come with the upcoming winter and spring sports seasons.
The remaining games and events promise to be exciting as the community rallies together to support these young athletes, making sure their final moments on the field are truly unforgettable.
