Littleton High School Football Coach Fired Amid Hazing Investigation

Littleton, Colorado – The head coach of the Littleton High School football team has been fired amid an ongoing investigation into suspected hazing within the program. The probe was initiated after school officials received a tip regarding potential assault among the players.

Lance Vieira, the former coach, received a ticket for reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor charge. This citation was issued on Tuesday, according to updates from Littleton Public Schools, which confirmed the ticket was related to the investigation but not directly linked to the initial assault allegations.

The details surrounding the hazing accusations remain unclear. The school district mentioned that the investigation started after concerns were raised about specific incidents involving team members. In a communication update, LPS officials noted that the Littleton Police Department is actively investigating the matter.

While the situation has caused disruptions within the team, including the cancellation of practices, dinners, and scrimmages, there is currently no word on whether the football team will participate in the upcoming season. LHS Principal Thomas Velazquez and LPS Superintendent Todd Lambert have shared updates and expressed the commitment to address the issues at hand.

Although Vieira has not been arrested, he is obligated to appear in Littleton Municipal Court on an undetermined date. Since the allegations first surfaced, there has been a notable absence of detailed information about the nature of the hazing or the specifics of the incidents reported.

The community continues to await further developments as the investigation progresses.
