Littleton, Colorado — The Littleton Police Department has begun an investigation focusing on allegations of assault involving members of the Littleton High School football team. This news came to light through a message from the district’s superintendent, Todd Lambert, who aimed to keep families informed during this troubling situation.
On Friday, Lambert shared a letter addressed to the families of the Littleton HS football players, crystalizing the district’s commitment to transparency. The letter, authored by Principal Dr. Thomas Velazquez, explained that the school became aware of the allegations on Thursday, triggered by an anonymous tip. As a consequence of this serious situation, both the Friday football practice and the scheduled team dinner were called off, along with the scrimmage set for Saturday.
While the letter did not provide details about the nature of the allegations, it urged anyone with pertinent information to come forward and contact either school administrators or local police. “We will fully cooperate with the Littleton Police Department as they continue the investigation,” Velazquez assured. He also promised updates as more information becomes available to guide the school’s next steps.
Superintendent Lambert noted that the district is currently limited in what can be shared regarding the ongoing investigation but expressed a commitment to provide more updates “as appropriate” once the situation develops further.
This unsettling news has raised concerns within the Littleton community, and parents are urged to remain vigilant for any further communication from the school district as the investigation unfolds.
