Manitowoc – The Menasha Bluejays celebrated a dominant victory over the Manitowoc Ships, finishing the game with a score of 42-0. This win improved the Bluejays to a record of 4-1 in the Fox River Classic Conference-South, making them eligible for the playoffs.
The Bluejays showcased their skills early on, with Jaydon Lanser receiving two touchdown passes from Logan Liegl during the first half of the game. Lanser caught a 19-yard pass for the first touchdown and then grabbed a 10-yard throw to extend the lead. Elijah Gigl was a standout performer as well, running for 148 yards and scoring three touchdowns on just 20 carries.
Menasha continued their strong offensive display in the second half, with Gigl running for additional touchdowns of 12 and 5 yards, while Beau Thompson capped off the scoring with a 6-yard rush in the fourth quarter.
With this latest victory, Menasha improved their overall record to 4-3 and will look to build on this success as they prepare for an upcoming home game against Sheboygan South on Friday. The Bluejays’ offense has shown great potential leading up to the playoffs, making them a team to watch as the season progresses.
Meanwhile, other games around the state included victories for teams such as Middleton, who defeated Madison East by a score of 70-8, and Kimberly, who continued their winning streak with a solid performance at a recent tournament.
