News Summary

NC State basketball has secured commitments from five-star recruit Zymicah Wilkins and four-star transfer Tre Holloman. Both players bring impressive talent to enhance the Wolfpack’s roster. Wilkins has made a name for himself already, while Holloman aims to build on his strong performance from his time at Michigan State. The new coaching staff is committed to developing a competitive team as NCAA changes loom. Fans can look forward to an exhilarating season ahead with these standout additions.

Exciting News from Raleigh: NC State Basketball Adds Top Talent!

If you’re a fan of NC State basketball, you’re in for some thrilling news! Right from Raleigh, the Wolfpack has just secured a major commitment from five-star recruit Zymicah Wilkins. This talented player has chosen to don the red and white, and despite some bumps in the road during his high school career, he’s determined to make waves in the world of college basketball.

An Eventful Journey for Zymicah Wilkins

Wilkins’s journey has been a captivating one. Originally from Rutherfordton, North Carolina, he made a substantial move from Rutherfordton-Spindale Central High School to the prestigious Arden Christ School. During his time at Christ School, he certainly didn’t just hang around; he led his team to back-to-back NCISAA 4A state titles. Talk about a champion!

As his recruitment unfolded, Wilkins stood out for his simplicity. He made it clear that his eyes were on just a couple of schools—most notably NC State and Georgetown—without getting distracted by other colleges. The recruitment process can be overwhelming, but Wilkins handled it like a pro. Thanks to the efforts of former assistant coach Levi Watkins, he finally made the decision to join the Wolfpack, officially announcing his commitment on September 21, 2024.

Welcome to the Pack: Tre Holloman Joins the Roster

But wait, there’s more! In addition to Wilkins, the Wolfpack is also welcoming Tre Holloman, a Michigan State transfer. Holloman has made a name for himself as a talented four-star point guard, ranked No. 18 by 247Sports, and he’s ready to bring his skills to Raleigh.

During his last season with the Spartans, Holloman’s numbers were impressive—averaging 9.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. He shone brightly in big moments, scoring at least 10 points in 16 different games and even hitting a season-high of 20 points against Michigan. His ability to perform under pressure continued through the NCAA Tournament, where he averaged 10 points and 3.25 assists.

Throughout his three-year stint at Michigan State, Holloman amassed a total of 580 points and 250 assists, boasting an impressive 2.5 career assist-to-turnover ratio. Safe to say, he knows how to make plays and help his teammates shine!

The New Look Wolfpack

The new staff coaching the Wolfpack, headed by Will Wade, is all about hustle and has actively worked on recruiting top-tier talent. Holloman is just one of the new faces, joining fellow incoming transfers Alyn Breed and Quadir Copeland. Plus, they are excited to have freshman commits like Zymicah Wilkins and Matthew Able in the fold, while standout player Paul McNeil has opted to stick with the program.

Looking Ahead

With the NCAA transfer portal set to close on April 22, there’s still plenty of excitement swirling around players making their next moves. However, they’re not pressed to commit by that date, which means even more speculation and anticipation in the coming weeks.

Recently, the Drifty Elite team showcased their talents at the Phenom Grassroots Tournament of Champions in Rock Hill, drawing in college coaches keeping an eye on the future stars, including Wilkins. His performance throughout the tournament certainly turned heads, giving fans a taste of what’s to come.

Future Leaders on the Horizon

On another note, excitement is buzzing with the launch of a new School of Business & Entrepreneurship at Combine Academy. This initiative aims to nurture future leaders and entrepreneurs among aspiring athletes, highlighting the multifaceted lives of student-athletes.

As NC State basketball gears up for an exciting season ahead, the addition of standout players like Zymicah Wilkins and Tre Holloman has fans eagerly looking forward to what’s next. Pack your bags, folks; it’s time for Wolfpack fans to rally behind their newly formed dream team!
