Rock Hill is a small city in South Carolina, roughly 15 miles from the North Carolina border. With 70,764 residents, it is the largest city in York County and the fifth-largest in the state. Rock Hill is part of the Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia metropolitan area.

There are 31 parks in the city, as well as various nature paths. There are several eateries and retail opportunities in the area, as well as five museums. Its neighborhoods and surrounding suburbs each have their own unique features, with many of them offering a variety of outdoor activities that take advantage of the region’s environment.

Rock Hill, South Carolina is part of the Charlotte metropolitan region, which has a population of around 2.5 million people. Despite having a population of only 117,000 people, Rock Hill is the fourth largest city in South Carolina. The average home is $136,000, and the average rent is $846.

RIVERWALK

The Riverwalk neighborhood is a 1,008-acre master-planned community in Rock Hill that is currently under construction. It will have 850 single-family homes, 250 townhomes, and 550 apartment homes when completed.

The Charlotte metro region is approximately around a 10-minute drive from Riverwalk. The Riverwalk neighborhood is expected to have over 66,000 residents.

The Catawba River runs through the area, providing residents with spectacular riverfront access. The River District, a 2.5-mile stretch of shoreline, is being developed with a combination of restaurants, retail, commercial, and entertainment. A world-class cycling velodrome is also located in the vicinity.

There will be a variety of retail alternatives available, ranging from shops to local outfitters. There will be everything from quiet coffee shops to elegant wine bars among the restaurants. A Town Center with restaurants and retail outlets, as well as abundance of greenspace and cycling and pedestrian-friendly pathways, are all part of the development plans.

On the north side of Rock Hill, Laurel Creek is a 275-acre residential development. The complex is expected to comprise numerous communities of single-family houses and townhomes when fully constructed. Recreational and conference facilities will also be included in the development.

Residents have quick access to Charlotte thanks to the neighborhood’s closeness to Interstate Highway 77, which has the shortest travel time of all Rock Hill neighborhoods.

Residents of Laurel Creek will have access to a variety of amenities, including walking trails, tennis courts, and a swimming pool, as well as plenty of greenspace.

The Village of Blakely is a 43-home patio home subdivision in Laurel Creek that has been finished. The Village of Augusta Place is a new patio home community in the works.

At Laurel Creek, the Villages of Chadbourne and Bellanova are estate home neighborhoods with 43 and 7 properties, respectively. The Village of Marley, Village of Rittenhouse, Village of Mountain Laurel, Village of Torrington, and Village of Sawgrass are among the other luxury home complexes planned.

Fort Mill

Fort Mill, commonly known as Fort Mill Township, is located eight miles northeast of Rock Hill in York County. Fort Mill has a population of 24,622 people.

RAWLINSON ACRES

These three communities are located on the western side of Rock Hill, in a fairly affluent area of town. York Road Elementary, Rawlinson Road Middle School, Northwestern High School, and the Applied Technology Center are just a few of the excellent schools in the neighborhood (a high school teaching technical skills).

Southern-style mansions, big 1970s ranch-style homes, and more contemporary-style homes built around 2000 are among the residences. This is Rock Hill’s most expensive neighborhood. The average home costs $300,986. This is more than double the population of Rock Hill’s other neighborhoods. The average monthly rent is $2,923. Because the vacancy rate is less than 4%, there are just a few rental homes available, which drives up rents.

Rawlinson Road Walking Trail and Northwestern Walking Trail are great for nature lovers. The Tool Fork River passes through this location on the western side. Wildcat Creek runs along the east side of the property. The Meadow Lake II Clubhouse, which is surrounded by five tiny lakes, is a wonderful option for people interested in joining a country club. It contains a clubhouse, tennis courts, and a private swimming pool.

Take the family to one of Wedgewood Square’s many eateries, which also has a grocery and other businesses.

This region is located in Rock Hill’s northern section, on the southern shore of the enormous Lake Wylie. It’s on the other side of the lake from Tega Cay. It is located west of the Catawba River, just south of the South Carolina-North Carolina line. To the southwest is the Rock Hill — York County Airport. In this location, household earnings are greater. This area is home to India Hook Elementary School.

This is a popular sector for persons who work as executives in senior management or as professionals. Many families live here on a permanent basis. Others have a second home on the lakeshore where they spend their summers.

The vast bulk of the houses in this neighborhood were constructed between 1970 and 1999. Some of the houses are newer, having been built after the year 2000. Because this is a popular suburb, housing prices here are higher than in the rest of Rock Hill. The average home costs $285,780. The average monthly rent is $1,353.

On Lake Wylie, Ebenezer Park and Campground is a lovely area to camp. Boating on the lake is a lot of fun. The Lake Club Marina is home to a large number of boat owners. To the northwest, on Lake Wylie, is the Water Edge ClubHouse.

Westminster Park, on the Catawba River to the east, is a popular destination for families. India Hook is bisected by the Big Dutchman Creek. Archery is a great sport to participate in. To the southwest lies the Southern Draw Archery Range.

Glencairn Garden

There are numerous schools in or near this area. The Palmetto School (at The Children’s Attention Home for special needs children) and the private York Preparatory Academy are also in the region. Rosewood Elementary International School, Westminster Catawba Christian School, and Winthrop University are all within walking distance. The Piedmont Medical Center offers world-class health care.

The majority of the houses were built after 1970 and are ranch-style. This area is known for its large, single-level brick homes with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The houses are situated on wide lots with well-established landscaping. Both the front and back yards are enormous. There are a few houses with swimming pools.

The median property price in this neighborhood is $187,267. The average rent is $1,414 per month.

Families enjoy Winthrop Park, which includes the Winthrop Coliseum, which hosts sporting events and games. The Manchester Meadow Park and the Fewell Park Center are also nearby. Cherry Park is where baseball games are held. Picnicking at Glencairn Gardens is a pleasant experience. At the Boyd Hill Recreation Center, families can participate in a variety of activities. The Winthrop Golf Course is a great place for golfers to enjoy a round of golf.

This area is located immediately north of Winthrop Heights. Cedar Grove Park, in the area immediately to the east of this one, is another excellent spot. The Ebinport Elementary School and the W. C. Sullivan Middle School are both located in Avondale Terrace. It’s still a short distance from Winthrop University.

Smaller homes are available in this neighborhood, which are ideal for new families. This area is ideal for folks with a modest housing budget. The average home costs $171,428. The average monthly rent is $1,086. Many families begin by renting a home and subsequently purchase one when they can afford it.

Hargett Park is a wonderful place to visit. Baseball fields and playgrounds cover around 19 acres. This is a centrally located community with easy access to all of Rock Hill’s major advantages.
