A New Indoor Golf Facility in Rock Hill, Unveiled By Childhood Buddies

Rock Hill – The jerseys and sneakers are long packed away as childhood buddies, Charles Coulson and Harrison Dixon step onto a different turf, embracing the business side of sports. The duo recently unveiled 19th at the Warehouses, Rock Hill’s first indoor golf experience and event venue, adding yet another chapter to their 22-year old friendship.

From Schoolmates to Business Owners

“To say Charles Coulson and Harrison Dixon grew up together would be an understatement.” Both traced their friendship to 22 years ago at Ebenezer Avenue Elementary School, through middle school at Sullivan, and high school at Rock Hill together. “We even played all kinds of sports along the way”, they reminisced.

Even as college set them on different paths, with Coulson attending Winthrop and Dixon the University of South Carolina, their paths merged again when Dixon returned home and completed his degree at Winthrop.

19th at the Warehouses – A Genesis Story

In a turn of events, the COVID-19 pandemic found them bitten by the golf bug. Hours spent on the course brought the idea to life, culminating into the establishment of 19th at the Warehouses. Coulson shared how a shared passion for the sport and a casual conversation led them to bring an indoor golf simulator-type business to Rock Hill.

Exclusive Indoor Golf Experience

The venue boasts four golf simulators within the main dining area and two private rooms designed for reservations. In an exciting partnership with Full Swing, a PGA Tour partner and the producer of a Netflix TV documentary offering behind-the-scenes looks of top golfers, customers can look forward to exclusive courses and metrics delivered through the simulators.

Add-On Entertainment

Engaging the diverse interests of the overall public, the simulators also offer football, basketball, and baseball games, couched in a family-friendly environment. Coulson noted, “We incorporated this feature because we wanted to appeal to families.” Children are especially thrilled by the carnival games and zombie dodgeball offered, as Coulson observed.

A Gastronomic Delight Wrapped in a Golf-Themed Setting

Complementing the golfing experience is a palate pleasing menu featuring snacks like boiled peanuts, warm spinach dip and churros, with signature sandwiches and flatbreads adding heft. Golf-themed cocktails add to the overall theme of the venue. While they have toyed with the idea of hiring a full-time chef and expanding the menu, Coulson admitted that the response to the current selection has been wonderful.

A Grand Opening

The grand opening on June 21 marked the culmination of a 14-month long journey that began when the duo took over the space previously inhabited by The Mercantile. The elaborate preparations seem to be bearing fruit as Coulson shared, “It’s so fulfilling to see people in here, enjoying their time, playing and having a domestic atmosphere.”
